Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. Written to be read.

Effective October 25, 2026 · RoundSix is operated by 10ten Inc.

The short version

  • We collect what we need to introduce you to people nearby and help you meet up: your name, area, interests, a few details about you, what you write in your circles, and how to reach you.
  • Your circle sees your first name, answers, interests and (if you add one) your photo. Your phone number and email are never shown to other members. Contact details you add are only shown to Your People.
  • We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We don't use ad-tracking pixels.
  • Our servers are in the United States (Google Cloud), so your information is stored and processed there.
  • You can delete your account any time from You → Delete my account.

1. Who we are

RoundSix is operated by 10ten Inc., a company in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the RoundSix website and apps (together, "RoundSix").

Our Privacy Officer is accountable for how we handle personal information. Reach them at hello@roundsix.app or by mail at 10ten Inc., Attn: Privacy Officer, 2055 Commercial Drive #505, Vancouver, BC V5N 0C7, Canada.

2. Where RoundSix is available

RoundSix is for adults 18 and over. Circles are currently offered in Canada, outside Quebec. People in the United States can visit our website and question pages, and this policy covers them too.

The laws that apply include Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), British Columbia's and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Acts, and, for US residents, the privacy laws of your state where they apply (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others).

3. What we collect

You give us:

  • Account: your first name or nickname, email address, and (to say you're in to a hangout) a verified phone number.
  • About you: your area (neighbourhood or town), interests, age range, life stage, the times you're usually free, an optional one-line bio, and optionally your gender, which we use only to keep groups balanced and never show to anyone.
  • In your circles: your answers, quick picks, the activities you'd say yes to, hearts, replies and thread messages, plan responses (I'm in, can't make it, "I'm here"), after-hangout feedback, and who you'd like to keep in touch with.
  • Photo: an optional profile photo.
  • Invites: if you join with a friend, come to a hangout as someone's guest or sign up through someone's link, who invited you and whether you later met up, so we can keep pairs together and see which invites work. A guest confirms a phone number and a first name only.
  • Contact details for Your People: optional phone, email or Instagram handle you choose to add.
  • Safety and support: reports you file, blocks, and messages or feedback you send us. App feedback can include your device type, browser, screen size and recent errors.
  • Question pages: if you answer a question on a public question page, your answer text (without your name).
  • Weekly city question: your answer and the week, so it can be ranked with everyone else's and we can show you where yours landed.

We collect automatically:

  • Usage: which screens you open and actions you take (for example, answering a question or saying you're in), through Google Analytics.
  • Device: device and browser type, language, app version, and a push-notification token if you turn notifications on.
  • Approximate location: our host estimates your city from your IP address so the landing page can show whether RoundSix is open near you. If you tap "Use my location", your device's location is used once to pick your area; we keep the area, never your exact location.
  • How you found us: the link or campaign that brought you (for example, a tagged Instagram or TikTok ad link), stored with your account.
  • Reliability: whether you showed up to plans you said you'd attend, used only to size circles and match people fairly. Nobody else sees it.

4. How we use it

  • To match you into small circles of people nearby, at times most of you are free, and to make each circle's plan.
  • To run your circles: show answers, replies, plans and moments, and send notifications and emails about things waiting for you.
  • To keep you and others safe: verify phone numbers before hangouts, check photos and text for things that aren't allowed, review reports, and suspend accounts that break the rules.
  • To improve matching over time: we learn which kinds of people you click with from your picks and hangouts (for example, "you click most with people into food and live music").
  • To understand and improve RoundSix, using analytics.
  • To respond to you and provide support.
  • To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We use your information only for these purposes. If we ever want to use it for something new, we'll ask first where the law requires it.

5. Who can see what

WhoWhat they see
People in your circleYour first name, interests, age range, life stage, rough distance or neighbourhood, bio, photo, answers, hearts, replies, and your plan responses.
Your PeopleThe above, plus any contact details you've added, and plans you make together.
AnyoneAnswers you post on public question pages, without your name. A few may also appear on our city pages, labelled only with your metro area (for example, Metro Vancouver). Answers to the weekly city question are counted in that city's public ranking, and a few may be quoted, without names. If you share a story card, only your own answer (and your first name, if you choose).
Nobody elseYour email, phone number, gender, exact location, reliability record and reports are never shown to other members.

Within 10ten Inc., only people who need to (for example, to review a report) can access personal information.

6. Service providers

We use trusted providers to run RoundSix. They process information only on our behalf and under contracts that require them to protect it:

  • Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): hosting our database, sign-in (email links and texted codes), file storage, server code, push notifications, photo checks (Cloud Vision) and Google Analytics.
  • Netlify: hosting the website and estimating your city from your IP address.
  • Cloudflare (Turnstile): an invisible check on the website that tells real visitors apart from automated bots, so fake accounts can't flood RoundSix. It looks at signals from your browser and connection, such as your IP address; we receive only a pass or fail. Cloudflare's handling of this data is described in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
  • Open-Meteo: checking the weather and air quality where you are. We send a point rounded to about 10 km: your device location if you've already allowed location access (we never ask for it just for this), otherwise your neighbourhood's or city's centre. Like any website, they also see your IP address.
  • Anthropic: writing the playful awards for answers and suggesting follow-up questions. We send the question, the answers and first names; never contact details. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
  • Resend: delivering the emails we send you (reminders, sign-in alerts and similar).
  • Apple and Google: delivering notifications to the RoundSix apps.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.

7. Where your information is stored

Our database, files and servers are in the United States (Google Cloud, in the US). If you're in Canada, your information is transferred to and stored in the US, where it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under US law. Some providers may process information in other countries, under the same protections.

8. Cookies, local storage and analytics

RoundSix stores a few things on your device so it works: your sign-in, your settings, drafts and a saved copy of the app so it opens quickly. Google Analytics uses cookies or device identifiers to count visits and actions. We don't use advertising cookies or ad-tracking pixels, and we don't let advertisers track you on RoundSix.

You can clear these in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.

9. We don't sell or share for ads

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising (as US state laws define those terms). We have not done so in the past 12 months.

10. How long we keep it

  • While your account is open: as long as you use RoundSix.
  • When you delete your account: we delete your profile, answers, photos, contact details and plans right away, and remove remaining copies within 30 days. Encrypted backups are overwritten within 90 days.
  • Inactive accounts: if you don't use RoundSix for 2 years, we'll email you and then delete the account.
  • Safety records: reports and the reasons for a suspension are kept for 2 years, so people who break the rules can't simply start over.
  • Analytics: kept in aggregate; Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
  • Legal: longer only when the law requires it.

11. How we protect it

We use encryption in transit, access controls and database rules that limit who can read what, and we give staff access only when needed. No service is perfectly secure; if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we'll notify you and the regulators as the law requires.

12. Your choices and rights

In the app, any time: edit your profile, remove your photo or contact details, choose which notifications you get, turn off "something's waiting" emails (or use the unsubscribe link), leave a circle, block people, and delete your account (how to delete your account).

Ask us: email hello@roundsix.app to access a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or withdraw consent. We'll reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm it's you.

In Canada: you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of British Columbia or of Alberta.

In the US: depending on your state, you may have the right to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, to get a portable copy, and to opt out of its sale, sharing for targeted advertising, or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects. We don't sell or share it for ads, or profile people in that way. You may use an authorized agent, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer; if we deny the appeal, you can contact your state attorney general.

13. Children

RoundSix is only for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it. If you believe a minor is using RoundSix, tell us at hello@roundsix.app.

14. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
