How RoundSix works in Toronto

  1. Pick your area and interests. It takes about a minute, in your phone's browser.
  2. Meet your circle. When circles open, we introduce you to 5 people near you who like the same things and are free at similar times.
  3. Answer a question a day together. Light, fun questions, so you know a bit about each other before you meet.
  4. Hang out. Your circle picks a time and an easy public place, and everyone says if they're in.
  5. Keep the ones you click with. If two of you want to stay in touch, you become each other's people.

Making friends in Toronto: a short guide

Toronto is huge, busy and spread out, and that's the main reason making friends can feel hard: commutes eat evenings, friend groups from school or work are tight, and the city is big enough that you rarely bump into the same person twice by chance. The upside is that there's a group for almost anything, and plenty of people in the same position as you.

Think neighbourhood, not city

Most Toronto friendships stick when they're close to home. Look for things within a short walk or transit ride: your local library branch's programs, a nearby community centre, a neighbourhood run club, a café you go to often enough to be recognised. Proximity makes the second and third meetups actually happen.

Pick a regular thing

Rec sports leagues, run clubs, climbing gyms, improv and language classes all meet weekly, which is what you want: the same faces, every week, until someone suggests a drink after. Choose one and give it two months before deciding it doesn't work.

Make the plan specific

Toronto calendars fill up fast. 'We should get coffee sometime' rarely happens; 'Saturday at 11, the café by the park?' usually does.

Where RoundSix fits

RoundSix introduces you to five people near you who share your interests and are free at similar times, so meeting up doesn't mean crossing the city. A question a day breaks the ice, then the group picks a time and a public place.
